LEAD project kicks off with a conference and workshops for European and Chinese academic leaders

On 21 March 2016 Vrije Universiteit Brussel welcomed leaders from European and Chinese universities to a conference and workshops on university governance and academic leadership in a changing Higher Education context. The meeting marks the official launch of the international LEAD Erasmus+ project which is coordinated by Vrije Universiteit Brussel. 

 

The LEAD: Governance and Academic Leadership of Chinese and European Universities in the Context of Innovation and Internationalization is an ambitious project carried out under the Erasmus+ Key Action 2: Capacity Building Project in the field of Higher Education.The project aims to provide training for academic leaders and university management teams to help them make informed decisions about the governance of their institutions and facilitate internationalisation in the field of academic governance and leadership. 

 

The LEAD Project has been initiated in October 2015 and is coordinated by Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The partnerschip includes 5 European partners (among them, UNICA and 2 UNICA Member Universities, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and Middle East Technical University) and 5 Chinese partners, as well as 10 associated partners from Europe and China. In total, six series of LEAD workshops in the EU and China will be organised from October 2015 to October 2018.
