Erasmus+ Coalition

The Erasmus+ Coalition is a European advocacy alliance co-led by the Lifelong Learning Platform and the European Youth Forum, bringing together organisations and networks from across education, training, youth and sport to strengthen the Erasmus+ programme and ensure that the voices of its beneficiaries are represented in EU policymaking.

With more than 80 European networks representing over 6,200 member organisations, the Coalition works to influence the programme’s implementation and shape its future, particularly in the negotiations on the EU’s long-term budget for 2028–2034, calling for a fivefold increase in the Erasmus+ budget and the protection of its core objectives.

UNICA is part of the Coalition to ensure that the perspectives and needs of European universities are represented in these discussions. As a network of universities in European capital cities, UNICA contributes the higher education sector’s experience and institutional perspective, advocating for a strong, accessible and adequately funded Erasmus+ programme that supports international mobility, cooperation between universities, inclusive learning opportunities and the broader role of higher education in European society. By joining forces with organisations across sectors, UNICA helps strengthen collective advocacy for the future of Erasmus+ and the opportunities it creates for universities, students and staff.
