“Culture Moves Europe” brings new opportunities for cultural professionals
01 August 2022 | Funding
“Culture Moves Europe” is the EC’s new mobility scheme for artists and cultural professionals. The scheme, which results from an agreement between the European Commission and Goethe-Institut, has a total budget of €21 million for a period of three years. This will allow supporting around 7,000 artists, creators, and cultural professionals to develop and present their works. The new scheme can be an opportunity for cultural projects from UNICA member institutions to take off since, depending on call specificities, universities may participate as partners in a consortium.
The new Culture Moves Europe will become a permanent action under the Creative Europe programme – the European Union’s programme for the European cultural and creative sector for the period 2021-2027 – and follows the successful I-Portunus pilot project (a scheme that supports the mobility of artists, creators, and cultural professionals) that took place between 2018 and 2022. The scheme builds on the recommendations stemming from this pilot phase.
Artists, cultural operators, and host organisations from all the sectors covered by the CULTURE strand and from the countries participating in the Creative Europe programme.
The first calls are expected in autumn 2022. Stay tuned!
