UNICA is happy to share that the article The Many Hats of an International Officer, written by Project & Communication Officer Alexandra Duarte and Policy & Advocacy Officer Brian Talty, based on the input of International Officers from accross the network, is featured in the Forum Magazine of the European Association for International Education (EAIE). About the article

With the summer issue focusing on Leadership in International Education, we decided to explore the topic not from the view of higher levels of leadership, but rather from the perspective of the leaders of international office. Hence, we reached out to senior international officers across our network how they are leading the response to fundamental shifts in today’s dynamic Higher Education sector, from dealing with a new generation of students to the European university alliances. Their insights reveal that an increasingly diverse skill set is now essential to facilitate immersive educational experiences: “Much beyond a collection of hats that international officers are collecting, we are witnessing the rise of global-minded educators who don’t execute international plans or tactics but rather actively engage, or at the minimum have an interest, in the internationalisation strategies of their universities.”

UNICA thanks all senior international officers from UNICA who contributed for this article and, overall, leaves a word of appreciation to all international officers working in higher education who ensure every student has the best international experience.

We invite you to read the article The Many Hats of an International Officer at the website of EAIE.
