By becoming part of this network, UNICA will gain valuable opportunities to align its members’ R&D strategies with European regulatory and legislative priorities, amplifying the collective voice of its capitals-based institutions in key discussions on research and innovation policy.

By joining this exclusive community, UNICA can leverage insights, best practices, and strategic connections to strengthen its engagement with EU research programmes and maximize success in future R&I initiatives. UNICA believes its participation in Science|Business will position our member universities as key contributors to European innovation, policy, and research excellence, fostering stronger collaboration across sectors and borders.

In line with UNICA’s long tradition of fostering collaboration within and beyond the frontiers of the EU, it is also important to highlight that UNICA joined the SB Widening Initiative Group. This group of leading research and innovation actors focuses on the designated ‘Widening countries’ and work to help research stakeholders and policymakers find the best ways to unlock the EU’s full research potential in the coming decade. By supporting initiatives that engage and include these countries, UNICA strengthens its role in shaping a more inclusive and collaborative European research and innovation ecosystem.
