UNICA at the Global CIVIS Days, the main annual event of European University CIVIS

On May 18-20, the President of the UNICA Network, Luciano Saso, as well as other members of the UNICA community, attended the Global CIVIS Days, the main annual event of European University CIVIS. The event took place in the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), a UNICA member institution, and focused on the topics addressed by the CIVIS Hub which NKUA leads: society, cuture and heritage.
The Global CIVIS days have the purpose of connecting, discussing, and promoting cooperation among students, university staff, civil society, innovators, policymakers and local representatives from across Europe to build the future of our Alliance and to find innovative solutions to societal challenges.
The event had many familiar faces both among panelists and attendees, as besides the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, CIVIS includes five other UNICA universities: Stockholm University, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Sapienza Università di Roma, University of Bucharest, and Université libre de Bruxelle. Some of those familiar faces include Professor Sorin Costreie, from the University of Bucharest and member of UNICA’s Steering Committee, who delivered a presentation on the «The pandemic of fake-news”; and Athina Dimopoulou, Mobility Leader at NK University of Athens, who has been an academic tutor in the UNICA Student Conference in Rome 2017, who participated in the CIVIS Digital Campus Open Presentation.
