The group started as a platform for the exchange of information, good practices, and solutions to overcome common difficulties resulting from the complex EU research funding rules & schemes (“EU Research Liaison Officers – EURLO”), but it widened its scope over the years to include broader topics related to the European research landscape. UNICA Research aims now at offering a think tank for Vice-Rectors Research and EU Research Liaison Officers to discuss European research and innovation policy initiatives and strategies. It also acts as a forum for voicing joint recommendations on how to improve the European research policies and funding programmes.
