UNICA to discuss collaboration between traditional networks and universities alliances at GICHE’s inaugural event | 23-24 Oct, Hannover
08 September 2025 | From UNICA
On 23–24 October 2025, the Global Innovation Circle on Higher Education (GICHE), a new international platform bringing together leaders of major university networks worldwide, will organise its inaugural event in Hannover, at the Herrenhausen Palace.
Under the theme “Building Innovative Networks in Complex Times: What Lies Ahead for International Collaboration in Higher Education?”, the event will explore how universities can work together to address today’s global challenges, from geopolitical crises to climate change, health emergencies, and social inequalities.
The pioneering initiative GICHE aims to create a “network of networks” and lay the foundation for sustainable, inclusive, and forward-looking collaboration in higher education and research.
UNICA is proud to be contributing to this event, taking part in the session “Traditional university networks and new University Alliances joining forces for common goals in Education, Research and Civic engagement”. This is yet another timely opportunity to highlight how traditional networks and alliances complement and reinforce one another, building a stronger, more connected academic landscape in Europe and contributing to society at large.
UNICA will be represented by its President, Prof. Sorin Costreie, and the Secretary-General, Prof. Luciano Saso.
