Open Letter on Horizon Europe: signatories urge Members States to reconsider proposed cuts to the 2023 budget

UNICA joins other signatories to the Open Letter urging the EU Member States to reconsider the proposed budget cuts on EU Programmes linked to research and innovation, which are already heavily oversubscribed.
All signatories share how concerned we are about the substantial and disproportionate cuts to the 2023 budget of Horizon Europe as proposed by the Council in July 20221 . The cuts amount to over €595 million from Horizon Europe, heavily impacting core programmes and initiatives that are key for helping the European Union to deal with the current and future crises.
