Scholars at Risk: Sweden Section

The University of Gothenburg in partnership with the Scholars at Risk Network is delighted to invite you (or your representative(s)) to participate in a meeting at the University of Gothenburg on Wednesday, 14th of November from 13h00 to 15h00, lecture hall 10University building, to discuss forming a Swedish section of Scholars at Risk. Scholars at risk is an international network of more than 300 higher education institutions in 35 countries dedicated to promoting academic freedom and to defending the human rights of scholars worldwide. The University of Gothenburg hopes to shortly become the first Swedish member of Scholars at Risk and is hosting this meeting with other Swedish higher education institutions to explore possibility establishing a Swedish section to protect international scholars, prevent attacks on higher education and promote academic freedom. All Swedish higher education institutions are invited to send a representative to the meeting. To RSVP please contact scholarsatrisk@nyu.edu, by no later than 12th of November.

Speakers will include Scholars at Risk staff (Sinead O’Gorman), a representative from Scholars at Risk – Norway Section (Marit Egner, University of Oslo) and a scholar who was recently assisted by the network.
