UNICA welcomes Rey Juan Carlos University and Panteion University and grows to 56 members

UNICA is happy to welcome to the network Rey Juan Carlos University, in Madrid, and Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, in Athens! The leaders of UNICA members universities approved the UNICA membership applications of the two institutions during the General Assembly, on the 19th of June 2025, in Athens.

The two new universities bring the total number of members of the network to 56.

Furthermore, UNICA also has members in one more European University, as Rey Juan Carlos University is part of EULiST, European Universities Linking Society and Technology. This means 40 out of the 56 UNICA member Universities now take part in European Universities Alliances. In other terms, 23 out of the 65 existing alliances have at least one UNICA member University as a partner.

Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences:

• Founded in 1927 – one of Greek oldest public universities​
• 9 Faculties, 4 schools​
• Students: 21,997​
• PhD students/doctoral candidates: 1,136​
• International students (% ): 1,3% ​
• Main fields of studies: Economy and Public Administration, Political Science, Social Science, International Studies, Law, Sociology, Communication and Culture​
• +400 co-operation agreements with HEIs worldwide​
