UNICA universities, as intrinsically urban capital universities, are partners in addressing global urban challenges. Universities cannot act alone and partnerships are needed with public & private stakeholders on all levels: from European to local.
You will receive firsthand information on Horizon Europe.
Director for Policy Coordination at DG Research & Innovation, Kurt VANDENBERGHE, will introduce the latest state of play in the negotiations of Horizon Europe and ample time has been provided for asking questions.
Deputy Director-General of the Joint Research Centre, Charlina VITCHEVA, and a EU representative of DG REGIO will present specific research programmes and funding schemes for urban capital cities & university research. Rector Caroline Pauwels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) will present her vision on UNICA as a URBAN network of universities. She will elaborate on how partnership between universities and cities can be developed and strengthened through research and research valorization.
After a networking lunch, two different models of partnership will be presented: Brussels and Amsterdam. And through an interactive roundtable, other UNICA universities will present their research cooperation models with the city and/or region.
After the seminar Vice-Rectors/Presidents are invited to the event "HOMO ROBOTICUS" in the prestigious Opera of Brussels "De Muntschouwburg/La Monnaie". Academics, international artists, politicians and professionals will share their vision on the synergy between the human being and robots. (The programme will be available in due course)
