International Association of Universities (IAU) organises webinar on Acting and Educating for Sustainable Development at Universities

The International Association of Universities (IAU) is organizing the webinar “Acting and Educating for Sustainable Development at Universities” next May 4, at 2:30 pm CEST. The webinar will address ESD and SDGs in Higher Education, with perspectives from HE leadership, research and students. The discussion with these experts and takeaways of the debate will feed into the upcoming UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (17-19 May 2021), and particularly the session on HEd which IAU is co-organizing with UNESCO.

With less than 10 years to go for Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, the world is at a crossroads in 2021. Working together and forming lasting and effective partnerships is now more crucial than ever. Universities engage with the SDGs in multiple ways including teaching, research, leadership, and campus operations. In addition, they are in a unique position to impact local communities and advocate for the pivotal role of higher education in addressing sustainable development to governments.
