The EAIE Conference 2012 took place in Dublin, 11-14 September 2012. As in previous years, UNICA held an informal meeting for the participants from the UNICA member Universities. The truly Irish setting of the Ferryman Pub offered a great ambiance for networking, but also brainstorming on the programme & topics of the next UNICA IRO meeting, 6-7 May 2013.

Huge thanks to Catherine Convery (IRO, University College Dublin) for helping us find the right venue.

The next EAIE Conference: Weaving the future of global partnerships will take place in Istambul, 10-13 September 2013.

Call for session proposals for the EAIE Conference 2013: 1 October - 12 November 2012.

"UNICA" EAIE SESSIONS and powerpoint presentations

Below you will find a list of EAIE sessions with contributions from the representatives of UNICA member universities.

SESSIONS - 8.10 Thursday 16:00-17:30 Erasmus staff mobility weeks: a powerful tool for networking and Internationalisation at Home

Chair: Luciano Saso, Sapienza University of Rome, Erasmus Institutional Coordinator, Italy
Speakers: Guri Vestad, University of Oslo International Education Office, Norway; Marton Belik, Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary; Sylvie Kohli, University of Lausanne, Switzerland

Erasmus staff mobility weeks improve the quality of international cooperations, allowing staff members to establish strong personal relationships and are very useful for those not normally engaged in international activities. Representatives from different universities of the UNICA Network (Rome-Sapienza, Oslo, Budapest-Eötvös Loránd and Lausanne) will present different formats of international weeks, and this session will provide an opportunity to discuss both positive and critical aspects of these important international initiatives. SESSIONS - 5.10 Friday 10:00 - 11:30
Placements for all students: let’s discuss quality (see the session flyer!)

Chair: Gregory Makrides, University of Cyprus EAEC, Cyprus
Speakers: Luciano Saso, Sapienza University of Rome, Erasmus Institutional Coordinator, Italy; Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, European Commission, Belgium

The quality of student placements will be explored through the presentation of two European projects: the Leonardo da Vinci project UNIPHARMA-GRADUATES (coordinated by Sapienza University of Rome), which offers 24-week placements to recent Italian Master's degree graduates in selected European public and private research centres, and the Erasmus Multilateral Project INENTER, which deals with a quality strategy to identify needs, develop models, tools and good practices for the placements of students in industry.
