The UNICA Rectors Seminar "Digitalization and Education. Can universities keep up with Industry 4.0?” was kindly hosted by the University of Zagreb, 23-24 May 2019 in the framework of the 350th anniversary celebrations of the University of Zagreb.

The Rectors Seminar gathered nearly 60 participants from 18 institutions, who had the opportunity to discuss about the added value and novel forms of inter-university cooperation and to explore the background for the growing interest in topics of digitalization and education. The Seminar also looked at the specific benefits of cross-border and inter-institutional partnerships, including joint efforts to prepare universities and member states for Industry 4.0.

The Seminar - organised in the framework of the 350th anniversary celebrations of the University of Zagreb - also looked at how Croatia as a new EU Member State, and the University of Zagreb in particular, face these crucial challenges. 

Main topics of the Seminar were: · Is Higher Education ready for Industry 4.0? · Cooperation between universities · How do EU Member States prepare for Industry 4.0? Examples of cross-sectoral cooperation in the EU · EU law and norms for Industry 4.0 vs Digitalization.
