2nd ASEM Rectors’ Conference (ASEM RC), 26-27 October 2010, Seoul, Korea. Registration deadline: 15 September 2010

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), Korean University (KU) and ASEAN University Network (AUN) are pleased to invite university leaders from Asia and Europe to participate in the

2nd ASEM Rectors’ Conference (ASEM RC),
to be held on 26-27 October 2010
in Seoul, Korea.

 

The ASEM Rectors’ Conference is a biennial leadership dialogue established in 2008 aimed at enhancing education co-operation among ASEM countries by providing a platform for higher education policy discussions between the two regions.

Building on the results of the 1st ASEM RC, the 2nd ASEM Rectors’ Conference will convene rectors and heads of universities and higher education institutions from ASEM member states to :

  • contribute actively to enhancing institutional exchange and cooperation within and between the region;
  • strengthen the stakeholder process, and further enhance its articulation with regards to the ASEM Education Process, by enhancing the working relations between university associations of both regions; and
  • develop recommendations for the upcoming ASEM Conference of Ministers for Education, Copenhagen, May 2011.

 

The organisers will provide travel subsidies (EUR 900 for participants travelling from Europe and EUR 450 for participants travelling from Asia) as well as accommodation for a 3-night stay in Seoul, Korea during the Conference.

 

Interested parties are invited to complete online Registration Form no later than 15 September 2010. Prospective participants are requested NOT to make any travel arrangements until they receive an official confirmation from the organisers.
