Bologna Conference “Development of the Social Dimension – Stocktaking and Future Perspectives of Student Services/Student Affairs in the European Higher Education Area”

 

The DSW is organizing the International Bologna Conference “Development of the Social Dimension – Stocktaking and Future Perspectives of Student Services/Student Affairs in the European Higher Education Area” which will take place from 11 to 13 July 2011 in Berlin.

The conference aims to analyse the contribution that student services/ student affairs (SAS) can make in order to improve the competitiveness of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), to highlight the key role of SAS in higher education with a special focus on social and economic needs of students and higher education institutions, and to strengthen the social dimension of the Bologna process through SAS activity.

The fruitful outcomes like a stocktaking of SAS in Europe, strategic guidelines for their further development, increased international cooperation and exchange of knowledge on best practices, and a final declaration on the future perspectives and development of SAS are expected.
