Guidance for proposals
Going Global attracts a diverse audience of policy-makers, professionals and practitioners in the no less diverse landscape of international education. Sessions are intended to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience around the conference themes, with the goal that all those attending will be inspired and motivated to put new ideas into practice following the event.
Those interested in speaking at the conference should submit a proposal in relation to one of the conference themes. Your summary should clearly respond to one of the three or four questions under your preferred theme.
When submitting a proposal, consider the title carefully. It should be short and clear, and make the reader want to learn more. Your summary should also be clear and concise, and should demonstrate the value that your proposal would add to the audience at Going Global 2012.
We welcome unique perspectives from all areas of international education. We are especially interested to hear about practical examples of how you have you have anticipated and responded to challenges and opportunities in your work. Successful proposals will link policy and practice, for example by explaining how specific experiences in the education sector have informed policy developments.
Selection process
The International Steering Committee will assess proposals to ensure their quality and relevance to the conference themes. Please find the criteria for selection below:
Successful proposals
All successful proposals will be offered a much reduced contributor registration rate.
Unsuccessful proposals
As a thank you for submitting a proposal, we are pleased to offer all unsuccessful proposals a discounted registration rate rather than the full fee.
Guidance for speakers
Guidance on session formats and pre-conference preparation will be provided to all successful proposals. All speakers must register for the conference through the online registration system. Registration will open in November 2011.
Publication of posters, papers, MP3 and Videos
All presentations and posters will be published on the conference website. Presentations will be converted into Adobe Acrobat format. Presentations and papers may also be published (with agreement of authors) in the conference proceedings.
