Vrije Universiteit Brussel participates, along with a group of Belgian institutions, in the organisation of the 2nd edition of the EU – Latin America and the Caribbean Academic Summit which will take place in Brussels on 8-9 June 2015.
The second edition of the Summit, led by the Permanent Academic Forum (FAP ALC – UE), and executed with the support of the Local Organising Committee, intends to continue elaborating on the efforts initiated during the first edition of the Summit in Santiago de Chile, in 2013 (Santiago Declaration available here). This second edition of the Academic Summit takes place right before the Summit of the Heads of State in Brussels on 10-11 June 2015.

The Academic Summit is organized around 4 key thematic areas, which will be addressed through various workshops. The themes selected are based on the working groups of the Permanent Academic Forum created during the first edition of the Summit, and are as follows:

For active participation in the workshops, an abstract of 500 words maximum is requested by 10 April 2015 to be sent to info[at]americasportal.eu.
