Diplomatic, Economic and Academic Mission to the Netherlands

The Diplomatic, Economic and Academic (DEA) Mission to the Netherlands is organised by International Diplomatic and Consular Society (CIDIC), European Centre for Economic Diplomacy and in cooperation with UNICA on 10-12 May 2016.

 

The aim of the Mission to the Netherlands, which follows the successful DEA Mission to Luxembourg, is to foster partnerships and collaborative activities among Dutch and Belgian higher education institutions and businesses. It is held in the framework of the Netherlands Presidency to the EU and under the High Patronage of HRH Princess Alexandre of Belgium. The initiative also has the support of European Commission's Directorate General for Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROWTH).

 

DEA Visits are planned in the following economic and academic sectors:

  • Health & Life Sciences (Medical Delta Incubator in Delft, Bio Science Park in Leiden)
  • Aerospace Industry (ESTEC in Noordwijk)
  • ICT (Security Delta Incubator in Delft)
  • Universities (Visits to the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam)
  • Startups (Startup Delta Incubator in Amsterdam, Innovation Quarter in the Hague)

B2B meetings will be organised by the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam with industry representatives from sectors such as Energy, High-Tech, Logistics, and Water. 

 

The diplomatic part of the Mission is organised with the support of the Belgian embassy to the Netherlands and Belgian regional representations in the Hague.

 

Next DEA Missions are planned in Slovakia (second half of 2016), Malta and the United Kingdom (2017), and Estonia and Bulgaria (2018).
