EGRACONS Grade Conversion tool needs your input!

The pioneering EGRACONS online grade conversion tool prepared in the framework of the EGRACONS project has now been launched in its first release and is now available for testing and use by all universities Europe and beyond.

The tool, open to both Erasmus+ countries and other European countries, aims at enabling universities to convert grades received by exchange students into their national grading scales in a fair and objective way. All higher education institutions can provide their grading tables of all first and second cycle degrees to be able to convert grades with partner institutions across Europe.

MORE ABOUT THE TOOL

The EGRACONS Grade Conversion Tool is fully compatible with (and explicitly referred to) in the newECTS User’s Guide  recently approved by all Bologna Process Ministers of Education (see 4.3 and 4.4 and Annex 2 ) and is also mentioned in the recently published guide Joint programmes from A to Z (p. 19), acknowledging its usefulness as a solution in the development of new means of advancing international academic exchanges.

The European Commission has also published a video in which the importance of grading tables is highlighted:  http://ec.europa.eu/avservices/video/player.cfm?ref=I101940

The following two short videos explain how the tool works:

FIRST FEEDBACK

The first release of the EGRACONS tool was received positively by both the project partners and the external evaluator who stressed its major qualities such as: user-friendly and intuitive interface, transparent and objective methodology, and a unique approach towards the transcript of grades guaranteed to all universities in Europe.

So far, the users of the tool have provided positive feedback, considering it a "turning point in the evolution of mobility schemes, not only in Europe but worldwide".

ACCESS THE TOOL & HELP US MAKE IT BETTER!

Now is the best time for universities to submit your grading tables if you would like your University to be included in the version that will be officially launched in September. Submitting your tables guarantees access to the conversion tool. Therefore, we invite all European universities and university colleges to contribute to the improvement and fine tuning of this tool by sending their own grading tables and their suggestions to the Project Coordinator: Valere.Meus@UGent.be and/or sgadmin@sgroup.be
