PRIDE Short Stories: Call for best practice examples in the area of doctoral education

One of the tangible outcomes of the PRIDE project: Professionals in Doctoral Education: Supporting skills development to better contribute to a European knowledge society will be the Handbook for professionalizing administrative staff in doctoral education, including case studies as well as examples of good practice in the area of doctoral education.

All UNICA member universities are invited to contribute to the Handbook by submitting a short story (max 800 words = less than 2 Word pages) about an initiative in the area of doctoral education (related to PhD training, supervision, conflict solving, career guidance, policy changes, etc.) which could serve as example for university professionals working in the area.

We are particularly interested in the following aspects:

  • Background & motivation: Why and how did you launch the initiative? What were the needs to be addressed? What are the specifics of your environment?
  • Presentation: What were the activities carried out? What were the success factors and particular skills and knowledge which were required for this initiative? Who was involved?
  • Recommendations for the future: What were the lessons learned?

We will be grateful for your submissions by Friday 3 July 2015.
