An article by Vassilis Ntouros, monitoring and evaluation expert at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, summarizes the results of a research conducted between November 2017 and January 2018 into the provision and selection of privately rented student housing across the seven SAVES 2 partner countries - Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, Romania and the UK.
According to the findings, a high percentage of students experience fuel poverty and the mixture of substandard houses and low levels of energy awareness among students has a severe impact on their wellbeing and living conditions.
