UNICA, together with 12 European Higher Education networks and associations, has signed a joint statement calling upon the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council to double the budget for research, innovation and education in the next Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF).
The statement is a result of an initiative by LERU and follows three consultation rounds in which UNICA actively participated.
As the discussions on the post-2020 long-term budget of the European Union are entering the final stage, it is paramount that due attention is given to those areas which constitute prerequisites for Europe's future growth and global competitiveness, that is European education, research and innovation. We therefore invite all UNICA Member Universities to make the statement available to the relevant policy-makers in your countries, including Ministers of Finance and Higher Education.
