UNICA joins the LEAD Academic Network

Story highlights:
– UNICA joins the LEAD Academic Network to advance academic leadership
– UNICA was previously a project partner in the LEAD project
UNICA has become a member of the LEAD Academic Network, an international and interdisciplinary platform that brings together academics and academic leaders to discuss and share insights on academic leadership and university governance. The Network seeks to advance academic leadership through research-based knowledge and collaborative learning, fostering a community committed to generating and disseminating knowledge and experiences in the field. It also aims to bridge the gap between academic leadership research and practical application.
Launched in November 2022, the LEAD Academic Network builds on the achievements of two EU-funded initiatives, the LEAD and LEAD2 projects. UNICA was one the project partners in the initial LEAD project.
The Network’s mission is to establish itself as a leading community and center of excellence for academic leadership research, serving as a hub for innovative best practices in the field. The activities of the LEAD Academic Network fall under three different pillars: Research, Training and academic leadership development, and Sharing, disseminating, networking and community services.
Just as the projects, the network is led by the EU-China Higher Education Research Center (ECHE), a transnational research center and a platform from Belgian university and UNICA member, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), dedicated to research and cooperation on higher education issues and faciliates cooperation among European and Chinese universities.
This affiliation reinforces our dedication to capacity building and excellence in higher education leadership, supporting our shared goal of shaping resilient and forward-thinking university systems.
